Pretend

Dressed in my niece Daria’s poncho that was made by my aunt Mary, with her new Dora backpack underneath giving her a psychedelic hunchback appearance, carrying a black studded purse that she got for Christmas from her Auntie Hillarie and pad and pen…. never without her pad and pen Sophia says….

“Mom I am going to school now.”
“Ok, how are you getting there?” I say cutting the vegetables.
“Taking the bus, hold on I have a call.” She pulls out her current phone which happens to be made of legos.  “No I am going to get a ride with my boyfriend.”
“You’re not old enough to ride in a car with a boy.”
“Maaaooom (add the tone of impatience) it is only for pretend I am 6 in pretend.”
“You have to be 18 to ride in a car with a boy.”
“Ok I can be 18, see you after school mom. Love you.”

Plant the seed early and pray for sun!

Drawing With Phia

Sophia was drawing these amazing birds and I asked her to show me how.  Watching her explain it to me was like wow!!!  I grabbed my camera and said show me again.  Watch this...

I know I am totally bias, but is she not totally freaking amazing or what!
Do you see the swell of mama pride encompassing the planet?  I'm sure you do!

My little cutie hijacks the camera again!

Sophia found the camera while I was at work and the most interesting progression of pictures popped up in the midst of her barbies and doll pictures.

When asked why he was crying she said "Logan wanted the camera"  Why did he start smiling? "Cuz I showed him the picture I made of him."
In picture two you can see our good ole boy Blue sleeping right through the whole thing.

Remember

When I get stressed and life just seems to be spiralling out of control my dear friend always says breathe and remember  your feet.
She is much more eloquent when she says it but the simple statement always seems to pull me back.  Here it is, me breathing and remembering my feet along with my beautiful boy.  His will never be this small again and mine will never be this young.  This moment is mine it's time skip the laundry, stop worrying about the toys and the unkempt house just think of your feet and breathe!

Easter Bunny? Nope!

So off we went for our outing to the carosel today.  I would have pictures but as luck would have it the batteries were dead. whoops.

As we finished our spin about we notice the Easter bunny making his way through the mall.  Oh the excitement.  Sophia was thrilled we ran yes ran to meet him.  In her usual fashion she got a tiny bit nervous when we reached our destination.  Low and behold she gave him a high five and was smiling the whole time.  Logan did not however like the giant sized furry creater and burrowed his head into Daddy's shoulder and looked as though he might have a good scream.

As we walked to the car Sophia said "Momma, that's not the Easter bunny."
"oohh?"
"Yeah that's silly that's a man in material." (WOW mom obviously sews)
"Really?"
"Yeah you know like on Halloween when I dressed up as Jessie but I wasn't really Jessie?  That's what that guy is doing he isn't real."
"Oh you mean it was a man in a costume?"
"Yeah a man in a bunny costume... What a silly man. The real Easter bunny is coming tommorrow."

Lord, at three she figures out some dude is wearing a bunny costume????

Listen to the wisdom!

I am adding a second post today.  Just have to!

Today we saw a woman holding a sign that said "Help just evicted family to feed. God Bless"
She looked like life had not been kind.  As she waved I saw her say whatever buddy to someone in a car behind us.  We were in the middle lane.  She continued to wave and smile.

Then I noticed Sophia in the back seat waving like mad.  The woman looked over gave her a genuine smile and waved back.

"Momma her name is Shelly.  She's my friend."
"Yep she sure was nice to wave." I said wondering where the name Shelly had come from.

As I drove through the light it hit me.  Phia sees no difference between this woman in need and the Tax people dressed in the Statue of Liberty costumes.  To her anyone with a smile and a wave is a friend.
Shouldn't we all look at the world this way.
