Power Outage

We had a bit of a wind storm last week and got to enjoy a short power outage.  Such wonderful lessons get learned in such things. 

Medals

Our 12 year old beagle Blue deserves some kind of medal.  He is pinched, pulled, tugged, dressed and in this photo bandaged daily.  When I arrive home from work it is not out of the ordinary for him to be wearing a tutu around his neck and a hair tie on his tail.  He takes it all in stride the poor guy.

To all the dogs out there who live their own personal clothing attire hell I salute you!

Boarding Boy

Jeans to skirt!

Had a great pair of jeans and spilled pint paint on the leg.  DRAT!  What to do?  Turn it into a skirt and do a little stenciling to cover the paint.  I hand cut 3 separate stencils for this and then just layered them.

I did not hem it as I want it to fray a bit as I wash it.  I did top stitch so it wouldn't go to far up.  I am not one to wear a mini skirt!

T-shirt dress spruce up!

Last summer I made this dress (with a lot of help from Mary) out of some oversized t-shirts.  It was a bit blah so I freehanded some leaves with chalk and then topstiched with the contrasting fabric under it.

Then I cut out inside of the stitching and...

Now it has to stop raining so I can wear it!

SNOW!?!?

A few weeks ago we awoke to the white stuff!  I still have to go to work since we are a residential school and many of the students live on campus.  SO what do you do when you know you only have an hour or so before you leave for work?  Well when you let the dog out to go potty you let the kids run out in their PJs

Then you make a quick batch of muffins and hot chocolate!

Then your husband gets to take them out for a real day of play and you jealously open these pics on your phone at work simultaneously cursing that you are missing it but oh so thankful that you have a job.

I love the snow even if it melts and is gone by afternoon!

Birthdays

We celebrated birthdays today!  My mom better known as Baba and Logan share this special day!

Here he is working on breakfast peanut butter on toast in his (yes that's right big boy undies) he has decided it's time to ditch the diapers.  Yes I should be glad, yes in some ways I am but in others oh my he isn't a baby anymore.

Fabric beaded necklace I made Mom Phia stamped and painted the fabric first. Didn't match her outfit but Sophia was so happy to see her wearing it.
