Teacher Gifts

Valentines Day happened a few weeks back which means teachers gifts. As a teacher I have gotten my fair share of awesome teacher gifts and candy.  I think it's important to show your appreciation to teachers, they work hard, don't get paid nearly enough and spend the best hours of the day with our children.. . Our most valuable resource.  My children are young and sick a lot so I am sure that my kids teachers are attached to the sink most of the day which leads to dry hands.  This in mind we are making lotion bars. Got the recipe off of pinterest.

WANT!!

I borrow a lot, A LOT of cookbooks from the library.  Most. I check out don't make the I wanna buy list but this one does!!
"The Homemade Pantry 101 Foods You Can Stop Buying and Start Making" by Alana Chernila.  Ok first I have to admit I like to pretend I am more domestic then I am... At least in the kitchen. 
Make your own cheese ....??  What??? Yeah I so wanna try that!
Instant oatmeal SIMPLE! Bread, soups, and pastry its got it all.

Yep this one is a must buy for me...check it out from the library and see if you agree.

15 of 48 Sewing for Libby

We have a special guest named Library Libby that comes to our school monthly and brings friends with her (hs seniors) dressed as book characters and then they read aloud to the kids.  It is more of a play then a read aloud but anywhoo... This is a big one 3 characters to pull costumes together for.  I did the cutting at work but the sewing at home the thinking and cutting takes me the longest.  I have a prince hat and cape complete need a sash...  Logan had a blast with the peterpan style hat and cape. Sophia has on the queen hat that my mother in law made and I may use for Rapunzel.  The book is. "Falling for Rapunzel" by Leah Wilcox

Belated Birthdays

A tiny thing... to forget...ahem

Sick again...day two.  David's birthday today we planned to celebrate on Sat because he was going to work today ...he didn't and I plain forgot that the big day was actually today :( lousy wifeeey!  Luckily he loves me anyway.  We are the couple that had to get married on a major holiday so I wouldn't forget the date.

Made a little paper banner using a boat load of leftover paint cards I found while cleaning a box in my office.

Did a tiny bit of prep for the birthday tomorrow morning. :)
