The Cook

What more can be said.  He has learned how to turn the mixer on.  Hmm maybe Momma wasn't ready yet?

Shirt Stamping

One birthday and one Christmas gift closer to New Years.
I saw this horse in a Stencils from an Egyptian book and just had to use it.  My niece competes in shows and well as her Aunt I can say with absolutely no bias that she rocks!  So I carved this stamp and then David cut me some wood for the backing.

These pictures are all out of order and I can't figure out why so.... Here is the final print.  I like that it looks well washed.  I would like to do a screen print one next time.

This is a shirt for my sister in law. The stamp is the definitions of love.  It was a little smudge but I think it turned out cool anyway.

My practice horse prints will show up in something for Phia later I am sure.  I gave my niece the shirt and stamp so she could stamp paper and her walls or whatever.

So there you are a bit of shirt stamping.  My favorite part is definitely the carving!

Phia is FOUR!!!

We had a family party on Wednesday then a little friend gathering on Saturday.

Everyday I watch her grow and yet I feel as though I have missed it. She is no longer the baby being held but the holder.  I am so blessed to have such an amazing daughter.  What wonderful joy she has brought our life.

p.s.After 6 months of saying "Mommy call me SOphia, Phia is a baby name." this week she said "Mommy I feel special when you call me Phia it's not a baby name it's my name."  I swear the angels in my head sang she is still my little girl!

New Dryer

Here are two helpful kids and my awesome hubby pushing our new dryer into the laundry room.
Note: wonderful hubby is now pushing dryer and not so helpful children riding on dryer.

We put it in ourselves and lets just say there was a bit of swearing and a lot of laughing at how something so seemingly simple could be such a pain in the keester.  In the end we love the dryer!

Ever Wonder??

Ever wonder what the world looks like to a 3 almost 4 year old? Phia got the camera and even though I cringe at the thought of the abuse it took these pictures were fascinating to me.  A little like the hidden look into her day.  So here goes.

Look at the carnage!

Check the socks!

Ahh the favorite Tom and Jerry

The artist as herself!  What I wouldn't give to be that mind of hers.
To all those 3 almost 4 year olds keep on keeping on!

Words of wisdom!

My wise friend was visiting last weekend and I was lamenting about the kids  when we are stuck in the house all day.  Here is my memory of the conversation (with poetic liberty)
"So go outside."
"It's raining."
"Slap a coat on them Ginger... their Northwest kids they know how to get wet."
My goodness do I love her wisdom, patience and love. So here's to you on a rainy Saturday morning at 8:00!

They loved it and so did I, and we love you Christiane!

NaNo no no WriMo

Well it is that time of year again.  A month of writing without editing.  Purging your mind of a all it's thought without critic.  Well I would love to say I am partaking.  I am in some ways... I am writing but my process this year is painstakingly slow and deliberate.  I am aiming for 20,000 this year wish me luck!

Pumpkins 101

The annual carving of the pumpkins was messy and fun.

Phia carved the whole top off on her own.

Ahhh the smell of pumpkin!
