Super easy and adorable!  This was fabric I got from a friend at work who was downsizing her stash and happily upsizing mine.  Sophia wore this most of the summer.

She helped by pushing the foot pedal and requested the crossed back.

Do-over

Do over!  I just want a do-over.  I want to turn back the clock a few months and start this summer over. It seems just yesterday I had time and sleep stretching out in front of me. 

Today was a good last day... busy but good.  Laundry, the final good cleaning, meal planning, all those miscellaneous things that need to be taken care of.  The kids played and we took a park break and they cleaned when asked.  We three took today slow and easy while Daddy went back to work and we decided that we wanted to go back to the beginning when we had guests visiting and a beach house and the sand between our toes.

So here we say Goodbye summer of 2012 we loved you!

Painted cheese

Sick of the everyday toasted cheese?? Well add a little art to it.  Milk with a drop or two of food coloring and paint your bread.  Don't get it too soggy.

Gak at ya!

Got a recipe for Gak on Pinterest which I am completely addicted to!  This stuff was awesome and we had it around for a couple of weeks before it got a little to nasty to play with.  If you haven't tried it absolutely worth it!

Keeping it real that is the typical mess on my counters and yes that is a basket of clean folded laundry a mile high in the shot.

This was way more fun and "important" than the laundry.

Aunt Hill has moved to Portland!!!  Wooohoo we are thrilled!  Well we are and we think our parents are except...

Dylan and Hillarie went out to eat with us and taught us how to shoot spit balls with our straws...

Hillarie taught Sophia how to cross one eye and make the other straight...

Then Dylan taught Logan that he doesn't like hot peppers, he didn't cry but said yeck...

And best of all we learned how to make fire by rubbing two sticks together.

Our Aunt Hillarie and her boyfriend Dylan are awesome and we are so glad they live near us!!!

Shapes for lunch

I am not the most fabulous cook.  I am happy when the food hits the table and is eaten.  This day though I was a rock star and there sits the turkey star to prove it.  This was a total winner!

He who climbs trees!

He who climbs trees shall have many memories.

This poor little tree in front of our house.  How it survives with the lack of water and the constant climbing I will never know.  It has become Logan's "giving tree"

...and the tree was happy.

"Sewing Clothes Kids Love"  I love this book.  So far of the 5 patterns I have used none have been stinkers.  How they go together is sometimes a mystery but they always turn out nice and truly unique.

This one is my favorite so cute and I love the embellishments we picked.

It is all one piece with some hidden elastic around the waist so you don't have to untie the bow.  The fit is nice as well.

 The magic wand fabric is what I used for Sophia's new school lunch box.  The under dress is stash fabric as well as the ribbon.  The charm is also stash it says laugh.

This is my favorite sewing project to date for her.  She will wear it the first day of school then we shall see if it is a real winner!

Star Wars Jello Molds

David brought these back from Comic Con.  It is the Death Star and the grey one is Han Solo frozen in Carbonite and then Boba Fett bought it to Jabba the Hutt.

We made fruit snacks using jello

Love the back pack and Sophia carrying her Cat.

The fruit snacks were terrible but they have been making ice in them non-stop Logan floats the death stars in the pool in the back yard until they melt.  Very cool now I want to fill them with chocolate :)

Ridgefield

This is the second time we have gone to the Ridgefield Bird Sanctuary ( I think thats what it's called) and each time it is amazing.  The trail is only about 2 miles and the kids always find critters along the way.  We saw a couple of mice.  Then we spotted this big guy.  We also saw a mama and baby.

Too MANY Toys

We have been reading the book "Too many Toys" and trying to whittle away the sad, broken, "baby" toys.  I made the mistake of saying if you don't play with it we need to pass it on.
