Fabric Stash

This is messy OK I get it, please remember I am a full time working mom of a 2 year old and a 5 year old. The fact that I even know where my fabric is ... is a miracle.  The right shelf from top to bottom and the bottom three to the left are all fabric... I know beautiful and inspiring right! So as stated in my challenge I would like to USE enough of this that by next year I will be all on one shelf.... doable??  We shall see!
Those lovely Hobbit feet are David's :)

Fall

I love fall.  The smell of newly sharpened pencils, wet falling leaves, pumpkins and hot coffee.  We have this beauty near our backdoor and look at that sparkle of sun peeking through the trees.  Ahh just lovely!

Tree pick me up

Love evergreens in the forest but honestly in our tiny yard it's a beautiful tree but kind of a drag.  The needles are poky and nothing really grows back there but ivy.  We dressed it up a little and David dug out an area and added some sand.  I made some streamers (with a cut up plastic bag)
There is a birds nest in the tree made from a papermache bowl made by Sophia.

These bird houses are actually fairy houses or alien houses in my son's case.

This little bad boy was following us around for a few weeks but we now (knock on wood) have a potty trained 2 year old and this little bugger stays in the bathroom!

Family

There are moments as a mother that I wonder what in the world did I get myself into?  When the kids are fighting, the food is burning, laundry is flooding out of the laundry room and the bills need paid... then there is a moment generally more than one in the day that I look around and say yep I am doing ok.  Then there are moments like these when I realize I am better then ok I am complete.
"Logan you want me to read you a book?"
"Book Book Tia."

All is right in my world, what about yours?

Ice Cream Truck

If you have been to our house you would know we are on the dead end of the dead ends.  So when we were cleaning out this...
Yes this is our garage in all it's glory! (I know tragic but I will have awesome ones with it clean soon!)
We heard the distant songs of the ice cream truck.
We made a run for it and it was oh so worth it!

Yes it's huge!

Oh how I love summer!

My cup runneth over.

Do you ever have those moments where you just feel like you are bubbling with joy and luck?  This weekend was one of those for me.  The northwest when it's sunny is definitely heaven on earth.  Green and lush and budding.  I had an amazing family day yesterday. David had to work today but I had wonderful conversations with close friends and sometimes there is nothing better.

So what's so great about today.  Well it started with a good belly laugh.  Phia tried to go head first over the railing and got stuck.  She wasn't too happy that I ran to get a picture before I helped her up but seriously funny.

She thought so too after I showed her the picture.

A close friend and I have kiddo's 2 months and 1 day apart. Her husband works Sunday's also so we get together and let the kids wear each other out.

The neighborhood park we went to sits next to a farm that has horses and Llama!

Does it get any better??
Why yes.  This very moment they are both asleep at the same time!
AHHHH!

Thankful

Today as I sit at look at the horror on the news of Haiti. I once again have to take time to be thankful.
Dinner is not made- We have food to eat.
My house is not clean- It is standing and full of hope and love.
My kids have colds- They are alive and warm and safe.
Life could not be more perfect in this moment, for this I am utterly grateful.

If you have money to give, now would be the time.  Here is the site for the red cross.  Do what you can, we have more than enough.

Thankful

I have been thinking a lot lately about all the things I am thankful for.  The time of year maybe brings it out in a all of us.  The excitement of Halloween and birthdays then the peacefulness of Thanksgiving before the bustle of Christmas.  I love it all.  Don't get me wrong I get stressed and overwhelmed and overworked but I still in the end enjoy the fall and winter for all the chaos it brings.

The year will end with a list of resolutions and then before you know it, it's spring.  The cycle rolls on and the years do as well.  It's hard to believe how many memories I have forgotten.  Everything seems so important in that moment and then it's gone.  "The Power of Now" as Eckhart Tolle would explain.

In this moment, this very moment I am thankful for...
Being Loved
Loving others
"I love you Mommy" even if it's in the middle of the night.
Baby toes, warm round bellies, and giggles
Husbands that do the dishes
Friends that become Mother-in-Laws
Baba's that bring yummies every Friday
Good friends that listen and commiserate and giggle and celebrate
family and friends that donate fabric
sewing machines and sergers
laptops and Internet
more books than I can possibly finish
more projects than I can finish

What things are you most thankful for today??
