On our 3rd swimming trip Sophia did it. With a floatie on she said "Momma I don't need you I do it myself." and she did kicked her way down the entire width of the pool and back. Children know just how to make you feel so loved and also obsolete at the same time.
I heard on the radio, years ago, that a 21 month old fell into a hot tub, but was able to swim to the side and hang on. On that day, I decided swimming lessons were very important for itty bitty kids. It meant the difference between life and death for the hot tub child. Bravo for your brave swimmer. And to you for letting her go.
